When vaping first broke out over 10 years ago one could pretty much vape anywhere one wanted to. However, much of that has changed and many places are enforcing stricter no vaping policies. To combat this, many vapers have turned to stealth vaping or vaping on the down low. This doesn’t really solve anything and in some cases can make it much worse for our cause as a vaping community. Here we will take a look at what stealth vaping is and why we do it.
What is stealth vaping?
Stealth vaping is the act of vaping in a secret or clandestine way so as not to draw attention to the fact that you are vaping. Most people stealth vape in places where vaping isn’t allowed or when they don’t want others to know they are vaping.
Reasons you shouldn’t stealth vape:
- There are many reasons one shouldn’t practice stealth vaping. First off, there are many places that don’t allow vaping because the state has made it illegal to do so. If you do decide to stealth vape in such places you could face prosecution and fines for disregarding the laws. If you are unsure of your state’s position on vaping check out our

- Companies and organizations are also free to implement “no vaping” policies anytime they choose. If you are out with other people it’s also polite to consider how they will react to your stealth vaping. While some people may not be bothered by your plumes, others may find it strange or annoying.
- The reason vaping isn’t allowed in places like restaurants and bars is often that the smell of your beloved vapor may not be appealing to others, or they may find it distracting. Just think, If you were enjoying your meal and get a conflicting smell wafting over, it might spoil your experience.
- If you simply want to avoid flooding the room or your immediate surroundings with vapor, potentially because you are in the company of people who don’t vape, then stealth vaping is fine. Just make sure you don’t annoy your friends and family by vaping to excess, aka blowing huge clouds. If we want vaping to be considered a normal part of everyday life in the future, it’s probably best that you don’t give people who don’t vape a reason to dislike it.
