Vape Etiquette For Jet Setters

Vape Etiquette For Jet Setters | Soul Vapor E-Liquid Blog

When you are travelling for the holidays you may be unsure about the vaping dos and don’ts of your particular location. In a recent survey showed that 57 percent of people agreed that it can be tricky knowing where vaping is and isn’t allowed. This guide is to help those of you who may still be unsure of proper vaping etiquette.

Globetrotting: Each country you travel to has different vaping laws and customs. We recommend that before you travel, you do a little research on your country’s or state’s vaping laws. Vaping is completely banned in some countries, as flavoring and nicotine are banned in some states. Some countries where vaping is banned are Argentina, Brazil, Cambodia, Jordan, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates. If you take your vape gear to any of these countries be aware that you risk having it confiscated at customs. Laws can change at any time so make sure you check on them right before you plan to depart.

The Airport: Most airports, and all commercial airplanes don’t allow vaping. Some airports do have designated smoking and vaping areas. It’s important to remember not to pack your vaping equipment in luggage. Instead, pack it in your carry-on bag. Your ejuices will be counted as liquids so know the law about how much liquid you can carry on at a time. Don’t pack massive bottles on your trip. The International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) has banned this and 191 countries use ICAO guidelines to make their flight laws.

Public Transportation: Whether it is the bus or train, assume you cannot vape inside the vehicle or inside stations. Like airports, some bus and train stations have designated smoking/vaping areas. If ever in doubt just ask anyone who works there where you can go have a quick vape.

Road-tripping: When in someone else’s car, including taxis, the right thing to do is ask the driver if it’s okay you vape. Don’t just assume it’s okay because it’s not smoke. Some people don’t like any type of exhaust, whether from smoking or vaping. A quarter of the people asked, when surveyed, said they don’t like people vaping in their cars without asking. Be polite and don’t make vaping look even worse than people presume it is.

Hotels: Hotels rooms are private spaces so unless you are rooming with someone who minds vaping in their space, feel free to vape. To be on the safe side ask staff if vaping is permitted in rooms. Be aware that some mods are able to set off fire alarms. If this should happen, obviously you’ll have to vape outside. Some alarms are more sensitive than others. If your hotel has a strict no smoking policy make sure you find out where the acceptable vaping areas are in, and outside of the place.

Most importantly, be safe, have fun, and use common sense when vaping in public. People are watching and judging vaping on how they see people behave while in the public eye. Set a good example for the rest of our community.
